CAD Technican

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed survey drawings, exhibits, plats, and maps from field data, notes, and sketches
• Process raw survey data using appropriate software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to produce accurate base maps and deliverables.
• Maintain organized digital files, adhering to company standards for layer management, naming conventions, and drafting quality.
• Collaborate closely with survey crews, Team Leaders, and Engineers to ensure design intent and survey data are accurately represented.
• Perform quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client or jurisdictional standards.
• Draft boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Assist in creating 3D surface models, contours, and volume calculations for design and construction purposes.
• Review field notes, deeds, and legal descriptions to support boundary determinations.
• Support project setup by importing control points, coordinates, and alignments from field instruments or GIS sources.
• Respond to redlines, markups, and revisions efficiently while maintaining drawing accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to integrate survey data into broader engineering or planning projects.
• Ensure adherence to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards in all work products.
• Stay current on CAD standards, software updates, and best practices in land surveying and drafting.

Requirements

• Proficiency in learning and utilizing technical platforms such as Google suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Monday.com and Deltek.
• Some coursework or training in CAD drafting or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in CAD drafting.
