We are looking for a Survey Department Manager to join our Destin team.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Survey Department, including personnel management, project proposals, and research for field and office work.
  • Ensure the quality and timely completion of field and office work, reviewing and approving survey calculations, and stamping and sealing final drawings.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and consistently delivering exceptional service.
  • Manage project and department budgets, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-effective practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to department personnel, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in survey practices, and emerging technologies, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue new opportunities for the survey department.
  • Maintain and archive survey records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for survey operations.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of [LOCATION]
  • 10+ years of experience in land surveying, with a proven track record of successful project management.
  • Familiarity with surveying software and technologies, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS equipment.
  • Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in business development activities, including client management and relationship building.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple objectives, clients, contractors, third parties, and internal team members effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in survey practices, equipment, and methodologies.
  • Exceptional skills in determining project requirements, setting priorities, and managing resources.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet critical deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts and information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting and working at a desk.
  • Ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
